Tuition fee and other fees

List of Fees Associated with the Studies at AFAD

Tuition 

Studies at AFAD shall be free of charge, however in specific cases designed by the law a student is required to pay tuition. It covers cases when the student has exceeded the standard length of studies on the first (bachelor’s degree study), the second (master’s degree study) or on the third (doctoral study) level of full-time studies; or if the student studies at two universities concurrently; or if the student studies a study program of the third level (doctoral study) in the external form of studies. 

In the AFAD requirements the tuition for the academic year 2022/2023  is designated for each further  academic year *:

Tuition for the exceeded standard length of studies and for the concurrent studies at two universities. 

  • bachelor’s degree study:  € 900
  • master’s degree study: € 1000
  • doctoral study: € 1000 

External Doctoral Study 

  • € 700

A student is obliged to pay tuition within one month from the day of receiving an announcement to pay tuition.  In cases of a specific concern the tuition may be reduced or remitted by the Rector of AFAD following a student’s written application. The reduction or remission of the tuition’s  payment may be applied for no later than within a period of 8 calendar days from the day of delivery of the decision. An application together with all the attachments confirming the subject of the application must be sent within the deadline.* Tuition and all fees are regulated by the Internal Regulations on tuition and fees associated with the studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

Fees

For selected services the AFAD students are obliged to pay fees, whose amount is derived from the real costs associated with these services.  Detailed information about the payment, related account numbers and variable symbols can be found in the document Internal Regulations on tuition and fees.

Entrance examination fee

  • bachelor’s degree study:  € 50 
  • master’s degree study: € 25
  • doctoral study: € 40 

Issuance of Certificates and Materials Associated with the Enrollment  for the New Academic Year 

  • bachelor’s degree study:  € 10
  • master’s degree study: € 10
  • doctoral study: € 10

ISIC Student Card

  • new ISIC card issuance: €11
  • copy of a valid ISIC card in case of loss: €16
  • ISIC validation stamp: €16

Transcript of Records

  • Original copy:  €5 (for every year of study)

Fees for the Copies of Documents on Completion of Studies (Section 92 par.15 of the Act on Universities)

  • diploma issued in the academic year of completion of studies: €30
  • diploma issued after more than 1 year after completion of studies: €50 
  • state exam certificate issued in the academic year of completion of studies: €30 
  • state exam certificate issued after more than 1 year after completion of studies: €50 
  • diploma supplement issued after more than 1 year after completion of studies: €50 
  •  Completion of Studies Certificate (studies from –to) (from the register)
  • issued after more than one year after completion of studies: €10
  • Recognition of Education Documents (Act No. 422/2015 Coll)
  • verification of education documents and issuance of a decision on education for academic purposes: €100 
  • completion and defense of the thesis, or taking a state exam: €120eur
  • taking a supplementary exam: €20

Fee for Consultations prior to Entrance Examinations

  • applicants to the studies at AFAD: €10 (including valid VAT for a 45-minute consultation)
