Workshops

At each of our departments, you can use specific devices – the well-equipped workshops offer variety of technologies, such as welding, bronze casting, 3D print, 3D hub, video recording and editing, digital technologies, glass and ceramic-making, jewellery and textile techniques, and more. The wooden frames and other small-size wooden works, the casting of different materials or the various metallic details are carried out by technical staff and are administered at respective studios. Students are not allowed to use the devices and work in the workshop on their own. The use of materials as well as the conditions of payment for the work accomplished by technical staff have to be negotiated with the respective teacher beforehand, and eventually covered by the student.

Workshop – printing

Located at the Drotárska Campus, this area is open for students to order reprography and scan work at the plotters and photocopiers. The services are charged.

Canteen

The student canteen located at Drotárska offers hot meals (lunch) and fast food buffet throughout the day in affordable prices.

Computers and Internet access

AFAD WiFi connection is available at the H18 Main Building (Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18) and the Drotárska Campus. The computers are available at each of the departments, and at the two computer labs, however, you are advised to have your own laptop with you.

Library

Located at the H18 Main Building + in Slovak National Gallery nearby, the library has an impressive collection of publications focused on art and its theory in Slovak, Czech, English, German and other languages. It provides books, periodicals, catalogues, as well as videos of Slovak and international provenience. The books and DVDs can be used only within the library premises. The photocopy service is available for a small fee.
