Applied Art
The Department of Applied Art is a department of artistic creation, craft and design. It offers education in three visual-art media: glass, ceramics and metal.
The studetns are expected to be highly motivated and enthusiastic about their studies, to think innovatively, and to have high level of performance, ambition, curiosity and creativity. The Department and its Studios offer the best possible conditions for development of the student´s creative personality, so they can develop their talent and creative skills. The study is aimed at encouraging individual creativity in students, as well as their intellectual grasp of assigned topics and ability to select best possible technological solution to create final artifacts. The particular spheres of the study are interwined and complemented, so the students are enabled to develop their artistic and design personality and to become successful authors. High success rate of the graduates, individual successes as well as high versatility on Slovak and foreign artistic scene are the quality marks of the teaching process at the Department.
