ANOTATION

Neurology conceives the human body and mind as interconnected systems, and humans as beings interconnected by empathy.

We learn how to become individuals by being part of a larger society. As interdependent and interconnected social beings, we have always been immersed in vulnerability.

Forming relationships, collaborating or interacting with others entails the necessity of being exposed, of being at risk... and therefore vulnerable.

However, some beings within society are far more vulnerable and prone to suffering than others. This is not to say that they are vulnerable per se - their vulnerability is very much constituted by the social conditions in which they live. Yet it is through vulnerability that we realise that we are all in the same boat and that we should free ourselves from a strictly self-absorbed viewpoint, our response can be negative or positive, ranging from violence to tender care.

We need a queer thinking that can be a critical challenge to rigid normativity and through which we can fully understand diversity and thus move towards a more complex understanding of what the meaning of justice is.
