The core mission of the Academic Library is to support pedagogical process and artistic and scientific works of pedagogical staff, academy students and users from other educational institutions with publications and information.
Regime of the Academic Library AFAD
New readers
new readers need to pre-register online prior to their first visit to the library.
once registration is complete, you can order documents from the online catalogue. See 'Loan request'. Readers will receive their library pass upon first visit, provided they verify their identity with a passport or, in the case of students, an ISIC card.
it is possible to use original passwords. However, the Forgotten Password process needs to be completed, since the new system does not recognise your original password.
previously registered readers have valid library passes until their status in the library changes.
Loan requests
loan requests are processed the next working day. Therefore, it is recommended that you place your order the day before your library visit
assistance with online searches is available at the library on Hviezdoslavovo námestie.
Collection of documents
documents will be prepared for collection the next working day. If the preparation of documents takes longer, you will be informed by email
each loan request is valid for seven calendar days. By this deadline, the requested documents must be collected.
Loan conditions
loan conditions, including loan length, the number of documents that can be borrowed and the rules for exceeding the deadline, remain unchanged. See Library Rules.
due to the library's limited capacities, the section with the oldest library documents will be inaccessible for a longer period. This information can be found in the online catalogue.
Loan expirations
any possible loan expirations caused by the library closure will be dealt with individually. The loan period will be extended by the length of the closure.
We would also like to ask for your understanding regarding the location identification in the online catalogue. Changes to locations are still ongoing, so some locations may not correspond with the current state. Thank you in advance for your patience.
