Long-term work experience of a student in an external environment
The term Internship refers to a long-term working experience undertaken by a student in the external environment of the school. The focus of the internship depends on the type of the study program. For example students of design and virtual communication can undertake internship in design studios of various companies, car manufacturers, advertising agencies, students of architecture in architectural studios or students of restoration in restoration workshops and so on. Admission to the Internship is assigned by the head of the studio and a particular department. An application can be downloaded from the academy web page. In case of a specific internship, which is not yet listed in the portfolio, such an internship and the admission to it is assigned in coordination between the Department and the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs. The internship is a full replacement for the Studio. The student is not allowed to be in the employment relationship with the institution which he/she is applying an internship to. The report must be deposited in student’s personal file at the study department.
The term Supplementary Internship refers to a short-term working experience undertaken by a student in the external environment of the school. The focus of the internship can be based on coordination and organization of various cultural and artistic projects, festival and workshops. It can also be teaching, or work with communities on various creative projects. However, the internship cannot be based an employment relationship. It refers to an active but voluntary activity of a student, for which besides the working experience he/she will earn credits. Admission for the Internship is assigned by the head of the studio and a particular department. An application can be downloaded from the academy web page. Credits will be written after submitting an evaluation report and after the admission of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. The evaluation report will also include the confirmation of the length of time allocated for internship admission i.e. minimum of 13 weeks and 5 hours per week or 65 hours per semester.
