The book In the Shadow of the Third Reich, Official Photographs of the Slovak State is the first professional publication of its kind focused on artistic-historical analysis and interpretation of photographs representing the political, historical and social situations of the Slovak state. The book is organized into two parts. The first part, entitled Falsified Worlds of Photography, gradually brings the reader closer to the relationship between photography and history, especially in terms of the degree of authenticity of photographic testimony to historical events. The second part, entitled Images of War Slovakia, is divided on the basis of topics that are essential for the characteristics of the totalitarian regime. The individual chapters are arranged similarly to a story that begins with a great rise, political ambitions, culminates in war interventions and ends with its demise.
