About the Exhibition
The exhibition presents a selection of contemporary works in jewelry, ceramics, and glass from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. These materials, rich in history, appear here not only as traditional craft disciplines but also as dynamic fields of experimentation, where archaic technologies merge with digital processes, and precise craftsmanship meets conceptual freedom.
Artists can be imagined within a spectrum between past and present—on one side, historical techniques and regionally rooted crafts, and on the other, digital innovations opening new possibilities for design and artistic expression. Similarly, they navigate between utility and experimentation—from objects that reflect rational production principles to conceptual works that explore the boundaries of applied art.
The exhibition connects the work of students and educators, whose creations reflect a wide range of approaches—from respecting tradition to its radical reinterpretation. Here, tradition is not a static reference to the past but a living process constantly rewritten in dialogue with the present. 3T: Tradition – Technology – Creation demonstrates that the future of applied arts emerges precisely at the intersection of these three dimensions.
