This publication documents the outcomes of the project called Think Global, Create Local, realized over the last six semesters (2019 – 2022) in the Studio of Fiber Art at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. The purpose of the project was to provide students with information from various areas of textile creation: starting with the latest digital technologies, through various innovative possibilities of handmade, handcrafted textile to a conceptual approach of creation.

The Studio of Fiber Art has been striving for a long time to make the teaching more attractive by supplementing traditional technologies with latest possibilities. This includes the use of digital looms, embroidery and weaving machines, and new software. The aim of the realized project, in the international overlap, was to make students familiar with other, unusual technological and creative processes and introduce new teaching approaches and inspirations, which they are continuously building on in they own work.
