The collection Art of the Seventies presents the results of the ongoing joint project of DTHA AFAD and SNG focused on visual arts of the second half of the 20th century. It follows on from the previous three anthologies (1994, 1995 and 1996). This time too, in addition to the workers of the aforementioned institutions, other authors from Slovakia and the Czech Republic participated in it. The intention of the compilers of the series of lectures and the anthology was to provide a set of views on the art of the seventies from different perspectives: the anthology therefore offers contributions ranging from a political study approximating the specific atmosphere of the seventies in our country to an analysis of a narrowly defined artistic problem in this period.
