GUTGUT is an experienced, opinion-forming and innovative Slovak architectural studio led by architects Štefan Polakovič and Lukáš Kordík, which focuses on creation from small interventions through building design to urban planning. Their well-known realizations such as the apartment house on Dunajská street in Bratislava, the reconstruction of a panel apartment house in Rimavská Sobota, the five cottages at Senecké lakes or the conversion of the Mlynica industrial building in Bratislava are based on international experience and respond to local context and history. Their recent project is Smaltovňa Lučenec, which preserves the variety and diversity of individual historical layers. The result is the integration of today and the past into a holistic and workable solution. GutGut is also active in the public sphere as a co-organizer of the DAAD festival. He is a laureate of the ARCH Award and a multiple laureate of the CE-ZA-AR Architecture Award.
