The student works were awarded at the Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2022

On April 27, 2023, the award ceremony for the Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2022 took place in the Hall of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic. The works of our students Ester Mládenková from the Department of Visual Communication and student Dávid Pogran from the Department of Printmaking and Other Media were among this year's winners. At the same time, the exhibition The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2022 was opened in the Dušan Rollo Gallery in BIBIANA, which will last from April 28 to June 11.

BIBIANA, the international house of art for children, annually awards the most beautiful books that were published in the previous year in Slovakia, or were mostly written by Slovak authors (in the case of co-production with a foreign country). The novelty of this year was the expert discussion "NKS 2022 - Why these?" with members of the jury about the last year of the competition. Our colleague doc. Mgr. art. Ľuboslav Paľo, ArtD., head of the Studio of Illustration and Printmaking at the Department of Printmaking and Other Media, dipl. Ing. Hana Križanová, MA, head of the secretariat of the Biennale of Illustrations Bratislava in BIBIANA and graphic designer Mgr. art. Martin Mistrík, who participated in the selection of the winners, were discussing about the quality of book design and the criteria for selecting 20 winning book titles.
