Sustainable fashion in education
Exhibition project entitled Sustainable fashion in education aims to inform and educate both professionals and the general public in the field issues of sustainable textile and clothing production.
During September to November 2019, the clothing collections of the Zero Impact Project will be presented in the form of a fashion show at several domestic and foreign events such as Design Blok, Fashion Live and Unique Fashion Week. As part of the exhibition project "Sustainable fashion in education" in the gallery SATELIT SCD Bratislava, we would like to present the broader context of individual authorial approaches in creating sustainable fashion as well as the need to innovate education in the context and intentions of development and direction of production and consumption of the sector. As an accompanying program, we are also planning a lecture by Very Artemyevi from Wearme Fashion on the given topic. Design research as an independent form of research is still insufficiently presented and supported in our country, and we also lack its significant evaluation in both pedagogical and creative practice. At the same time, the innovation of the pedagogical process and approach represents a unique opportunity to initiate change in this sector.
