Opinion on tree felling
On 9 February 2021, several dozen trees were cut down on the way to the VŠVU buildings, above the intersection of Drotárska cesta and Búdková. A written opinion on this excavation was also issued by the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.
Students and professors of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava consider the felling of trees above the intersection of Búdkova and Drotárska streets to be outrageous. It is a space on the way to our school.
This gross aggression is based on the non-transparent actions of the former Bratislava - Old Town council headed by ex-mayor Radoslav Števčík and very uncoordinated decision-making between public and state authorities (sales, felling permit, building permit, etc.).
AFAD is of the opinion that it is not possible to return the previous situation before the felling, but it is possible to make a park in the given area and not a meaningless, aggressive and arrogant development action. We will support any initiative in this matter, we are willing to unite in favor of a good cause.
