Open Call: Free Six-Month Studio Residency at Nová Cvernovka
Corwin and the Cvernovka Foundation have announced an open call for a free six-month residency in a shared studio at Nová Cvernovka. The call is open to three or four visual arts graduates currently based in Slovakia who completed their studies no more than five years ago. Applications are open until 14 August 2026.
Corwin, in cooperation with the Cvernovka Foundation, has announced an open call for a free six-month residency in a shared studio at Nová Cvernovka. The residency programme is intended for three or four visual arts graduates.
Who can apply?
- graduates of art academies and universities specialising in visual arts,
- applicants currently based and working in Slovakia,
- applicants who completed their studies (BA, MA or doctoral degree) no more than five years ago.
About the studio
- 80 m² of floor space,
- a bright, multifunctional open-plan studio with eight large-format windows,
- a separate electricity meter, water meter and cold-water connection,
- direct access to a service and freight lift,
- 24/7 access to the studio and the building.
The studio is located at Nová Cvernovka and is suitable for both individual and collective artistic practice.
What does the residency offer?
- free use of the studio from 1 September 2026 to 28 February 2027, including rental and operating costs,
- promotion through the Corwin Art initiative and Nová Cvernovka’s communication channels,
- opportunities to present work at exhibitions and events organised by Corwin,
- the possibility of having an artwork acquired for the internal Corwin Art collection,
- networking opportunities with art collectors,
- access to the creative community of Nová Cvernovka,
- access to fully equipped woodworking and metal workshops,
- a 20% discount at the Nová Cvernovka bar and access to discounted parking on the premises.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted through the online application form.
In addition to the applicant’s basic information, the application must include:
- an artistic portfolio in PDF format featuring up-to-date visual documentation of the applicant’s work,
- a brief description of the project or artistic concept that the applicant plans to develop during the six-month residency.
The application deadline is 14 August 2026 at midnight.

- 1 September 2026: beginning of the residency,
- 28 February 2027: end of the residency.
