Elections to the Academic Senate for the 2026–2030 Term of Office

Announcement of Elections to the Academic Senate of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava for the 2026–2030 Term

 

In accordance with Article 3 of VŠVU Internal Regulation No. 4/2018 – Rules for Elections to the VŠVU Academic Senate, the Election Committee announces elections to the Academic Senate of VŠVU in Bratislava for the 2026–2030 term.

The elections will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

Details of the election procedure, eligibility requirements, and deadlines are set out in VŠVU Internal Regulation No. 4/2018 – Rules for Elections to the VŠVU Academic Senate.

 

Voting on 29 October 2026 will take place at:

Koceľova Street 10:00–10:30
Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18 11:00–14:00
Drotárska cesta 44 10:00–15:00

 

Elections to the Academic Senate of VŠVU in Bratislava will be held separately for the staff section of the academic community and the student section of the academic community.

Elections to the VŠVU Academic Senate are direct and conducted by secret ballot.

 

Nominations of candidates

The Election Committee invites members of the VŠVU academic community to nominate candidates for membership of the Academic Senate of VŠVU in Bratislava.

Any member of the VŠVU academic community may nominate a candidate. Individuals may also nominate themselves for membership of the VŠVU Academic Senate.

Nominations may be submitted to the Election Committee from 17 September 2026 until no later than 15 October 2026 in a sealed envelope marked “Nomination of a Candidate for Membership of the VŠVU Academic Senate”, delivered to the filing office. The filing office is located in the Bursar’s Office at Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18. A temporary filing office will operate at Drotárska cesta from 1 to 15 October 2026.

 

Nomination requirements:

Only a member of the academic community may serve on the VŠVU Academic Senate. Members of the VŠVU academic community may nominate candidates for the Senate. Members of the student section of the academic community nominate candidates from that section and may also nominate themselves. Nominations may be submitted using the prepared nomination form available on the school’s website.

A nomination must include:

  1. the nominated candidate’s first name, surname, academic title, department, year of study, and level of study,
  2. the nominator’s first name, surname, date, and signature,
  3. a written declaration from the nominated candidate consenting to stand for election and confirming that they are unaware of any grounds that would make them ineligible.

 

After this deadline, the Election Committee will verify that candidates meet the eligibility requirements and request written consent to stand for election from the nominated candidates.

The final lists of candidates for the staff and student sections of the academic community will be published no later than 22 October 2026.
