Annotation
In a moderate selection, we present the work of the lesser-known but exceptional artist Barbora Lungová. Barbora Lungová (* 1977) is paradoxically perceived and accepted on the contemporary Czech art scene more as an environmental activist and gardener than as a remarkable painter. However, her painting work has been continuously developing for two decades, somewhat characteristically outside the main center of the art scene. A generationally and artistically unique contribution dealing with issues of gender, non-normative desire and hypnotic symbolism provides a strong visual and artistic experience that resonates with our visual experience, but at the same time questions the meanings we usually associate with it.
