Roman Bicek

In his work, Roman Bicek mainly deals with painting, drawing and collage. He combines scenes from everyday life with images from the media, which are taken out of their original context and acquire new contexts and narratives. His art comments on the problems present in our socio-political discourse. He uses a variety of media such as drawing, painting and collage to amplify his critical thinking process. By combining opposite elements in his work, such as beauty and rawness or craftsmanship and expressiveness, he tries to unsettle the audience and draw them into unexplored territories. Its goal is dialogue without imposing one's opinions. He uses humor and satire to establish contact with the viewer and make topics that are often unpleasant or taboo accessible.Romania, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Japan, Sweden... Her works are represented in the collections of Slovak galleries.
