ORTHOPHOTO

The exhibition ORTHOPHOTO is, in its own way, a laboratory—albeit an inherently peculiar one. It is a space where the boundaries between different forms of knowledge blur: between science and art, or between humans and non-human entities.

It offers viewers a variety of stimuli that challenge established dualisms, such as human versus animal, culture versus nature, or technology versus biology. In this spirit, it rejects the Cartesian model of the body as a machine, which ultimately separated body from soul and reduced animals to automatons.

Here, the viewer’s gaze becomes a performance, shaping the meaning of the exhibition while encouraging empathy and an awareness of broader interconnectedness between human and non-human entities. It creates a space where the audience is not merely passive observers but active co-creators. By engaging in the metaphorical laboratory of "making-with" (sympoiesis, as articulated by Donna Haraway), their gaze and interaction become tools for revealing new connections between diverse media, disciplines, or entities—be it humans and animals, technology, or ecological processes.

The viewer is not just an observer but an "expert" discovering their own relationships and meanings.
