Maľba competition
Support for young artists continues - another year of the prestigious Maľba competition opens. Once again after a year, young professional painters have a new chance to shine and gain support for the start of their artistic career.
Those interested can submit their works via the website www.malbaroka.sk until June 15, 2021.
The VUB Foundation will redistribute a total of 20,000 euros to the three winners selected by an international jury in the autumn.
An international jury, which will bring together leading European visual artists, theorists, curators, gallerists and teachers, will also ensure a professional and independent decision during the 16th year of the competition. Its composition will be known in the summer. The evaluation process of the submitted works will take place in two phases. The experts will first select 20 finalists from all the submitted works and then select three winners in the second round. The VUB Foundation will present them in September and provide them with a total financial support of 20,000 euros. All works of the final 20 will be made available to the general public. A free exhibition is planned from the beginning of October, which will traditionally take place in the Nedbalka Gallery in Bratislava.
Maľba competition is intended for active painters under the age of 35. The condition is also the sending of a sample of the work in electronic form with confirmation of its parameters.
