The exhibition “Enchanted Bratislava” aims to highlight the problematic understanding and formation of public space in Slovakia after 1989 — both from an architectural and urbanistic perspective. In this process, public interest often loses out to private investment ambitions. The reality of bizarre new developments emerging across Slovakia, and especially in its capital, has already become a kind of historical layer — formally and conceptually hollow — that raises a pressing question: Who truly owns public space? Is it all of us, or only a handful of the privileged who manipulate it at will? Who is its real master?
The activities of the FOR MAAT Gallery are supported using public funding from the Slovak Arts Council, the main partner of the project. FOR MAAT Gallery is a partner of Trenčín 2026.
