Dominik Pirháč: Closing the space

In the summer, Dominik Pirháč was supposed to finish his master's studies in the glass studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Although he was still just finding his way, it is clear from his realizations that he perceived glass primarily as a sculptural material that allowed him to express himself in space or to enclose or even expand this space in the glass material. His optical glass works were created by connecting glass segments, where the contact surfaces helped create optical effects. He was interested in the relations arising inside the glass object, but also in the relations of the object itself with its surroundings. Dominik Pirháč did not have time to further develop his work. He left us suddenly on December 22, 2023.

We want to dedicate a silent memory to him with the current exhibition in the NOVA Gallery.
