The publication presents important topics of textile production from the beginning of the 20th century to new technologies of the 21st century. The interest is mainly focused on the author's textile creation, but also textile industrial design. In the seven chapters, it offers the reader a basic overview of important personalities of the department in Czechoslovakia and in the world, and also provides information about institutions and companies that have participated in the design, manufacture or sale of textile products. He also deals with fundamental pedagogical institutions, decisive for the development of textile production. It includes the historical development of the most important textile plants and the characteristics of industrial production in Slovakia from its beginnings in the 19th century to the present. The publication is intended mainly for high school and university students with a focus on textiles, but also for people from practice. It will provide readers with broader socio-cultural contexts, essential for the overall development of Slovak applied art.
