130 times fragility
As part of BADW 2022 (Bratislava Design Week), we could also see a large retrospective exhibition of the production of the RONA glass factory in Lednické Rovnie, curated by the head of our Glass studio, Patrik Illo.
Exhibition location: GMB / Mirbach palace
"The exhibition, curated by Patrik Illo, the chief designer of the glassworks, maps a strong and impressive footprint in which the direct collaboration of designer/craftsman/production plays a role from the 1950s to the present day. It is characterized by authors who made a clear mark on the design of the glassworks - from Karol Hološko and Jaroslav Taraba, emblematic personalities of Slovak glass design and important exponents of the exceptional design center there, through Ladislav Pagáč, Jozef Kolembus, Juraj Steinhübel, graduates of the glass studio at the VŠVU in Bratislava, who shaped the profile of the glassworks in the 1980s and 1990s, up to Patrik Illo, Miloš Janků, Mária Račeková and Aleksandra Stencel, designers who designed for RONA in recent years. The picture of the history of the glassworks is complemented by several Czech glass designers/artists who worked more or less intensively with the glassworks, especially in the 1960s and 1970s, such as Dagmar Kudrová-Seifertová or Jindřich Rejnart."
