Karin Šusteková's jewelry at the Talente Meister der Zukunft competition
In 2023, in the competition of European young authors, Bc. Karin Šusteková, student of the master's degree at the S+M+L_XL ATELIER – METAL AND JEWELRY, landed a spot at the exhibition Talente Meister der Zukunft – Talents Masters of the Future – in the Schmuck/Jewellery category.
It is a considerable success of teaching in the studio, at the Department of Applied Art of the University of Bratislava. The international jury was impressed by the author's precise approach and choice of materials, as well as the innovative grasp of jewelry as an object on which the whole is important, as well as a small secret on the reverse side under the binding.
The Talente Meister der Zukunft competition presents the most innovative works of young designers under the age of 35. It includes the media of glass, textiles, jewellery, ceramics and furniture design. From more than 400 registered works, the expert jury selected 98 realizations, which will be presented as part of the exhibition "Handwerk & Design" in Munich, Germany.
From the point of view of the presented content of the works, young artists and designers dealt with environmental protection and ecological sustainability. The exhibited works represent the search for ecologically friendly, new materials, or new approaches to conventional materials. The interaction of traditional craft and modern technology is one of the recurring themes of the rapprochement of different cultures.
The competition focuses on work that has formal and technical originality and technical excellence and is ahead of its time. TALENTE is implemented by the Munich and Upper Bavarian Chamber of Skilled Craftsmen and is jointly ensured by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy and the Bavarian State Ministry of Economy and Media, Energy and Technology.
The exhibition takes place in Munich from March 8 to March 12, 2023
