Coordination of Community Activities and Wellbeing

The aim is to connect mental health support with student life and activities at the school. Activities focused on wellbeing, community, and a safe environment for students are designed and implemented.

Who am I?

My name is Jana Yar, and I work as:

I connect mental health support with student life and events at the school, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment for students. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Media Production from the United Kingdom, a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Singapore, and a master’s degree in psychotherapy from Monash University in Australia.

What areas do I focus on?

  • I design and organise activities focused on wellbeing, community, and creating a safe environment for students,
  • I plan and facilitate group meetings and seminars,
  • I collaborate with teaching and administrative staff to develop sustainable solutions for promoting wellbeing and managing challenging situations in the academic environment.

 

  • I contribute to the implementation of the Buddy System at VŠVU.

 

  • I provide counselling and therapeutic support during difficult emotional or personal situations, including depression, anxiety, stress, and relationship problems,
  • I provide advice to students experiencing difficult social or financial circumstances and help them explore possible solutions,
  • I provide study-related advice, including support with insufficient academic progress or lack of motivation,
  • I provide therapeutic counselling for VŠVU employees,
  • I provide student ombudsperson services,
  • I provide mediation,
  • I receive reports and address inappropriate conduct, various forms of discrimination, and violations of the rights set out in the VŠVU Code of Ethics.

How can you arrange a consultation with Jana?

Sessions take place in person in Office D315 on the third floor at Drotárska cesta 44. By arrangement, they may also take place at Hviezdoslavovo námestie or via Microsoft Teams. Appointments must be arranged in advance by email at or by telephone at +421 911 059 977.
