International teacher/researcher

Foreign teachers interested in teaching mobility at AFAD can participate in the ERASMUS and CEEPUS programmes. Alternately, their stay may be based on a bilateral agreement between AFAD and their sending (parent) institution.

The Academy of Fine Arts and Design has signed numerous cooperation agreements with universities and higher education institutions from Europe, America and Asia. Foreign teachers and researchers interested in teaching, research or artistic stays at AFAD have the opportunity to use the benefits of these partnerships. This section of our website provides elementary information about mobility opportunities at AFAD for foreign pedagogues, researchers, or artists. If you are interested in further details regarding cooperation with specific departments, please contact the Foreign Relations Office, or the specific department itself. In case you are interested in cooperation with AFAD within the framework of international projects and grant programmes, please contact the Project Activities Office.

1. Teaching/ Research Stay

ERASMUS

  1. On the basis of an Erasmus agreement between AFAD and the parent institution, the foreign pedagogue will submit his/her request for a stay, together with a proposal of a Teaching Programme approved by the parent institution to the Foreign Relations Office, which is the coordinator of the Erasmus programme at AFAD.
  2. The Foreign Relations Office will submit the full information to the relevant department, which will express its opinion. The department confirms the term and programme of the teaching mobility, suggests its amendments or, in legitimate instances, rejects the mobility. The department announces its opinion to the Foreign Relations Office, which then communicates with the foreign teacher. Following a definitive approval of the stay term and the programme for the teaching mobility, the Foreign Relations Office presents the information to AFAD’s management.
  3. The foreign teacher’s stay at AFAD is financed by his/her sending (parent) institution. AFAD does not provide any financial support or remuneration to foreign teachers teaching at AFAD within the ERASMUS programme.

The list of all currently valid Erasmus interuniversity agreements can be found in the AFAD Partner Schools section.

In case the department approves the mobility, the coordinator will electronically confirm acceptation of the foreign teacher, and will present the information to AFAD’s management.
  3. The foreign teacher’s stay at AFAD is financed from a scholarship provided by the National Office for the CEEPUS Programme in the Slovak Republic. AFAD does not provide any financial support or remuneration to foreign teachers teaching at AFAD within the CEEPUS programme.
