The collective exhibition will introduce selected works of recent graduates and current students of Studio of New Aesthetic, Dept. of Photography, FAMU, Prague. The New Aesthetic Studio (a term defined by the artist and theorist James Bridle) responds to the growing dissolution of the boundaries between digital and physical living space. Based on the learning about photography and film (lens-based media), it opens up a wide range of activities and various strategies in the field of contemporary visual art.
The studio functions as a de-hierarchical environment of dialogue and constant exchange of approaches, attitudes, methods and their application to specific artistic activities, both tangible and intangible.
The discussion between the students of the studio is moderated and refined by the duo of visual artist and photographer Hynek Alt and curator and theorist Jen Kratochvil.
This project was financially supported by Bratislava Self-Governing Region Council.
