Annotation:
Gallery Tabačka invites you to the last exhibition before the summer break, which is called "OPORA" and is devoted to the theme of chairs in art. Chairs as design or utilitarian objects are an essential part of human life, and perhaps that is also why they are often used in contemporary art as a starting point for opening various topics, either as ready-made or objects created from the beginning with artistic intent. Undoubtedly, the iconic work of the conceptual artist Joseph Kosuth (b. 1945), considered the key to understanding conceptual and post-conceptual practice, is also responsible for this popularity. The OPORA exhibition will provide a cross-sectional approach to the trends in art that have manifested themselves in the object of the chair, and last but not least, it will also take a look at the chair itself as an inconspicuous cultural phenomenon that can tell different types of stories and comments in the form of post-conceptual art.
