David Čársky – From the Studio to the GARDEN

Ateliér.EM invites you to the exhibition From the Studio to the GARDEN by David Čársky.

CIT Gallery, Heydukova 15, Bratislava

Curator: Beata Jablonská

The monochromatic painting is the dominant—and in fact the only—theme in the work of David Čársky. However, this seemingly strict limitation offers him a generous and free space. He projects it into a meditation on painting and the image, focused on the proportions of color surfaces within the canvas. The defining framework is the reduction of color to two or three shades and their composition into simple geometric forms. Some time ago, his paintings began to grow into objects, as a result of layering color fields, during which he realized that the “physicality” of painting could be another quality of the ideal image he is seeking. In the exhibition *FROM THE STUDIO TO THE GARDEN* at CIT Gallery, he will also present new painting-objects inspired by the atmosphere of the open-air gallery ZÁHRADA and exhibited as part of the international symposium 16SEM Sculpture / Jewelry / Architecture, *Hommage à EM*.

The exhibition is an accompanying event of 17SEM – International Symposium SCULPTURE / JEWELRY / PAINTING / ARCHITECTURE
