Annotation
Trembling figures in the distance, in the middle of a beige landscape. Moving, shifting bodies in a constant state of leaving – towards something else. Another society, another self, another state of being. Their traces slowly fade, disintegrate. Nutrients remain on the surface of the exhausted soil overgrown with cables. It is not good here and there is no escape. And yet we escape. We bow to the ground and look closely. We observe swarming bugs, cooling corpses, dip our fingers into the soil and touch the fragments of time. The artistic, political, spiritual and scientific appear in our hands as material. And so we do something with it. Finally, exhausted*, we turn to stone. There is no escape.
