The Department of Textile Creation will host Slovak designer Zuzana Gombošová, who will present her work and lead a workshop for students of the Department of Textile Creation.
Zuzana Gombošová is a Slovak textile designer currently based in southern India. There, in her design studio, she is developing a material called Malai, which aims to become a sustainable alternative to leather in accessory production. It is compostable, vegan, and made from bacterial cellulose derived from water from brown coconuts.
Zuzana is a graduate of the University of the Arts London in Future Textiles and has already received numerous design awards, including recognition in listings such as Forbes 30 Under 30 (2018).
The project is implemented with the financial support of KEGA – Textil+, project no. 001VŠVU-4/2004.
