Variety of photographic substrates and layers: Janka B. Križanová's lecture within Pharmacopoeia exhibition

The lecture by conservator Janka Blaško Križanová will deal with the diversity of photographic materials and layers from the dagerotype to silver-gelatin photography in relation to the exhibition Pharmacopoeia by Aleksandra Vajd and Anetta Mona Chişa, curated by Jen Kratochvil.

Mgr. art. Janka Blaško Križanová, Art.D.

Is an assistant professor at the Department of Restoration and Conservation of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. She is in charge of the Photography Restoration Laboratory and teaches the history, technology and identification of photographic techniques. At this academy, she obtained a bachelor's (2005), master's (2008) and doctoral (2013) degrees in the restoration of painting, paper and photography. For several years she worked as an intern at the Getty Conservation Institute and The Metropolitan Museum of Art (USA).

The lecture takes place during the day due to natural light.
