„The Pulsating Medium of Photography“

  • Public inaugural lecture and defense of the inaugural thesis

"In my lecture I will discuss the medium of photography and its pulsation into other media in the context of creative and technological practices and their subsequent influence on thematic focus. I discuss the possibilities of the so-called expanded field of photography while pointing out the inexhaustible possibilities for the author's creative potential. I reflect on the relations of thematic focus with connections and practices of extension/expansion/hybridization of technological-media and interdisciplinary research knowledge. I am extending my exploration into media collaborations, specifically the authorial collaboration with artist Palo Macho, where the pulsation of the two mediums of photography and glass through two authors not abandoning their mediality, seeks a creative fusion of the potential for new authorship/co-authorship."
