Dávid Koronczi: New Interfaces 03/ Buffet of productive naivety
On Thursday, July 25 at 6pm., we will welcome at the Medium Gallery Dávid Koronczi, who has prepared a lecture Buffet of productive naivety! for you within the New Interfaces 03 series, which will also revolve around the topic of food. The lecture will be held in Slovak language.
MEDIUM Gallery, Hviezdoslavovo námestie 18, Bratislava
The lecture will be based on the popular expression of the American journalist Michael Pollan, which paraphrases as saying that we can eat everything we want, the whole cake... we just have to bake it ourselves. I would agree and add that bake it well! Or a stew, feel free to put Szegedin with a whole dumpling for the cake. Ideally, grow at least some of the ingredients yourself!
The lecture will be an associative reflection on consumption, digestion, taste, relationship to the landscape and the possibilities of the countryside as the impacts of climate change mitigating environment.
Dávid Koronczi (*1990) is a graphic designer, artist, and teacher. He completed a bachelor's degree in photography at the ITF in Opava and a master's degree in Atelier IN – Ilona Németh, at the Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Arts and Design in Bratislava, where since 2018 he has been working as Martin Piaček's assistant at Atelier vvv. In 2022, he began his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the BUT in Brno under the supervision of Katarína Hládeková.
New Interfaces 03 is a series of five lectures led by the experts from various fields of contemporary art discourse or specialists on themes that resonate with artists working in the post-media environment. The series, under the dramaturgy of Miroslava Urbanova, gallery manager of the Medium Gallery, focuses primarily on themes touching on our conditions of cognition in the interfaces of constantly updating technologies and in contrast to the desire for an authentic, visceral experience of the elusive here and now. These themes appear in art with increasing urgency, both in the overflow of performative works or works thematizing these new interfaces.
Supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council.
