Film: AFAD and Inclusion
We present to you the first episode of the film series, which we prepared on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of our school in cooperation with the director Soňa Maletz. Through these short films, we want to show you not only the inner workings of the AFAD, but also the topics that interest us in terms of student assignments, in artistic and scientific research, as well as the values that we try to uphold at the school.
AFAD and Inclusion
We want to consider our school as a safe place open to all. That is also why we examine the current situation not only at home and in the world, but also within our own institution, and we look for effective tools to create an inclusive space regardless of gender, ethnic, sexual and other identities. In this film, through interviews with students, teachers and management, we will show you how they perceive the environment of our school, what positives and obstacles the creation of an open space can bring.
„The biggest challenge is to overcome our own automatic reactions. It’s about going against our usual habits and learning to think differently. I believe we have a unique advantage in this regard because, as an art school it’s part of the nature of art to explore different perspectives and open up new worlds. “
