Congratulations to our student from the Department of Photography and New Media, Dorota Jedináková, for the Young Talent of the Year award in the Slovak Press Photo competition.

 

About the awarded series of photographs entitled "What is home if not the first place you run away from?" she said: "The project is an intimate depiction of the life of my close friend (B.) and his journey to self-discovery. I try to appeal and evoke empathy over the aspects that shape a person's life after a change of gender identity. I strive to present a visual story that represents one of the most significant decisions in a person's life in vague hints, but also in clear rawness."
