Women of AFAD: Eva Cisárová-Mináriková

In the next episode of our podcast, Zuzana Golianová spoke with former AFAD pedagogue, textile artist and historian, one of the pioneers of free textile creation in Slovakia, Eva Cisárová-Mináriková.

In 1990, Eva Cisárová-Mináriková founded and for twenty years led the studio of free textile creation at the AFAD. In this period, she also started a textile restoration course in connection with the study of history and "disap pearing" techniques, as she realized that little attention is paid to historical textiles and many rare artefacts disappear. In the interview, she also mentions her teachers at the AFAD who influenced her, or colleagues with whom she developed awareness of the history of textiles and techniques. In addition to her free work, she also devoted herself to researching textile history in Slovakia, such as the association Izabella under the leadership of Mária Hollósy.

Women of AFAD: Women about work, practice and things that matter is a series of podcasts that we prepared on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the AFAD in cooperation with Zuzana Golianová. Every Tuesday throughout October and November, you can look forward to a new interview with one of our school's former and current pedagogues, who reflect on the history and development of the AFAD through the eyes of women.
