Women of AFAD: Danica Pišteková
We are publishing another episode of the podcast about current and former teachers of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, this time with architect Danica Pišteková.
For three years now, Danica Pišteková has been the head of the Studio of Architexture: Body and Space and is also the first woman in the history of our school in such a position within the Department of Architecture. In the studio, together with Tomáš Tholt, they do not offer answers and instructions, they rather lead students to try their own definitions and thinking in architecture, focusing on topics such as haptics, body and space, materiality and even the productive potential of mistakes.
In addition to her pedagogical and independent artistic practice, she is also part of the architectural studio Woven, together with other AFAD graduates of architecture - Anna Cséfalvay, Marianna Maczová and Veronika Michalíková.
Women of AFAD: Women about work, practice and things that matter is a series of podcasts that we prepared on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the AFAD in cooperation with Zuzana Golianová. Every Tuesday throughout October and November, you can look forward to a new interview with one of our school's former and current pedagogues, who reflect on the history and development of the AFAD through the eyes of women.
Left to right: Zuzana Golianová, Danica Pišteková
