New publication: Movement behind images
As part of the publishing and grant activities of the AFAD, we have published a new publication Movement behind images, which complements the still relatively under-reflected curatorial studies and the topic of exhibition practice in our environment. Its editors are Ján Kralovič and Daniel Grúň, lecturers of Theory and History of Art at the AFAD.
Movement Behind Images
Contemporary Thinking on Exhibitions and Curating
Peer reviewers:
"The book presents thought-provoking studies devoted to the currently developing debates on the curating of contemporary art. The texts thematize and approach different contexts of institutional operation, mediation and reception of visual art. The present collective monograph is an extremely welcome and necessary contribution to a more rigorous reflection on the theory and practice of curatorial studies in the domestic environment."
Peter Megyeši
"I see the publication as another important contribution to the establishment of the field, to greater internal nuancing, to the outlining of current themes and approaches to dealing with them. It will certainly find its readership in art schools and academies, as well as in departments and other departments of art history, or directly in curatorial studies. The book will certainly also be of interest to practicing professionals in art galleries and museums, and to curators, for whom it can serve as a tool for deepening reflection on their own work."
