Exhibition Advertisement for Democracy
Several generations of artists have already been born into "freedom". Among them are also students of the AFAD. They no longer have to defend their work or worldview and they are a natural part of their being. With the anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, however, they want to hold up a mirror to democracy. They feel the need to wonder if their freedom is still really freedom. BKIS, in cooperation with AGAD and selected authors, created a joint initiative "Advertisement for democracy". It shows the topicality of the themes of November 17, 1989, because freedom is key.
"We still believe in the power of art and its power to speak to people, that's why we want to get messages from different generations of artists who are a voice for democracy to the streets." Initiators – students Adam Balogh, Samuel Gregor-Dzurek and curator Jana Babušiaková.
You can currently see the visuals on display cylinders in various places in the city districts of Bratislava and on Sunday November 17th, 2024 at a commemorative event on Námestie Nežnej revolúcie.
