EXTENDED Call for proposals for candidates for the Academic Board of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Bratislava

In accordance with the Higher Education Act, members of the Academic Board of a public university are primarily:

• prominent scientific or artistic personalities,
• representatives of public life at the national or regional level, and
• significant representatives of the business sector in line with the mission of the public university, or
• persons with experience in managing the assets and financial resources of a legal entity.

Nominations for a member of the Academic Board of AFAD are submitted to the Academic Senate of AFAD (hereinafter referred to as "AS AFAD") by:

• legal entities registered in the Register of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations (§ 2 para. 2 of Act No. 346/2018 Coll. on the Register of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations and on Amendments to Certain Acts),
• municipalities,
• self-governing regions,
• the Slovak Academy of Sciences,
• public research institutions, and
• other legal entities holding a certificate of competence to conduct research and development, except for universities,
• representative associations of employers, museums, galleries, and theaters.

The position of a member of the Academic Board of AFAD is, according to § 40 para. 6 of the Higher Education Act, incompatible with the function of:

• a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic,
• a member of the government,
• a state secretary,
• a rector,
• a vice-rector,
• a dean and the head of a university unit that is not a faculty,
• members of the Academic Board of AFAD must not be dependent persons [§ 2 letter n) of Act No. 595/2003 Coll. as amended by Act No. 344/2017 Coll.].
• The position of a member of the board of trustees of a public university is incompatible with a state service relationship in a government office, which is a ministry, with an employment relationship with a ministry, and with membership in the board of trustees of another university.
• The position of a member of the Academic Board of a public university is also incompatible with membership in the academic community of the respective public university, except for a member elected by the student part of the academic senate of the public university. The position of a member of the board of trustees of a public university elected by the student part of the academic senate of the public university is incompatible with membership in the respective academic senate.

METHOD OF SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS:

The nomination for a candidate for a member of the Academic Board of AFAD must include:

• a professional CV of the nominated person,
• the consent of the nominated candidate,
• a sworn statement by the nominated candidate confirming that they meet the conditions for membership in the Academic Board of AFAD and that there is no incompatibility of functions with potential membership in the Academic Board of AFAD,
• a declaration on the processing of the candidate’s personal data for the purpose of selecting members of the Academic Board.

 

Complete nominations can be submitted to the Academic Senate of AFAD in written form in a sealed envelope marked with the heading:

 „Návrh na kandidáta na člena Správnej rady VŠVU“

The submitter of the nomination is obliged to indicate their name or business name and full address on the front side of the sealed envelope with the nomination.
