Announcement of the election of the candidate for rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava
The deadline for submitting nominations for candidates for the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava is from May 4, 2026 to August 31, 2026.
I.
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, pursuant to Article 16, point 5 of the Statute of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, as amended by Addenda No. 1, 2, 3 and 4, hereby announces the election of a candidate for the position of Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (hereinafter referred to as “AFAD”) for the term of office
from 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2031.
II.
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava sets the deadline for submitting nominations for candidates for Rector of AFAD
from 4 May 2026 to 31 August 2026.
Nominations must be delivered to the following address: AFAD in Bratislava, Hviezdoslavovo nám. 18,
814 37 Bratislava, either by post or via the registry office by:
31 August 2026 by 12:00 (noon).
III.
AFAD in Bratislava announces that the electoral assembly, whose members include all members of the Academic Senate of AFAD and all members of the AFAD Board of Trustees, will take place on
30 September 2026 at 10:00
in Bratislava, Drotárska cesta 44.
IV.
The nomination of a candidate must include:
- Structured professional CV (maximum 3 standard pages, 1800 characters per page).
- Programme theses containing a proposed development strategy for AFAD (maximum 4 standard pages, 1800 characters per page). The candidate may also attach a visual presentation of the strategy to be used during the public hearing.
- Written consent to candidacy in the following wording: “By my signature, I confirm that I agree with my candidacy for the position of Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava for the period from 1 February 2027 to 31 January 2031. I also agree to the publication of my professional CV and programme theses.”
- Extract from the criminal record (not older than 3 months).
- Proof of education (not required for AFAD employees).
