Boyhood

Adam Kukuc

Adam Kukuc Boyhood BADW

"When I was a young boy, we had a shelf full of small tractors and toy cars at home. I had no interest in playing with them. I didn’t know how to drive them around and make engine sounds across the room like my older brother. My childhood was full of stereotypes about how boys should behave, how they should express their emotions, and what kinds of toys they could play with. In my imagination, I transformed this shelf of tractors into a complex device for making tea. In this project, I return to my childhood as an adult, borrowing an idea from my younger self. I deliberately use boyhood archetypes that were imposed on me to highlight the issue of gender stereotypes. In the context of the theme TOTALITY, I reflect on these stereotypes as a form of oppression that affects us all."

Mirroring vol.2

Veronika Majerčíková

Veronika Majerčíková

"I perceive the reflection in a mirror as an interpretation of reality, where some degree of distortion always occurs. For me, a vase is a metaphor for a human being. In this project, I aimed to transform the classic archetype of the vase into a new form, using various principles of mirroring.

Hybrid

Through the kaleidoscope principle, the vase fractures and simultaneously multiplies into a single entity. It becomes an unfamiliar hybrid, evoking something vaguely recognizable within us.

Imitari

Mirroring refers to behavior in which one person subconsciously adopts the gestures, speech, or posture of another. This principle is utilized in vases that can be assembled from pre-defined components according to individual preferences. The vase thus acquires a unique appearance while also reflecting the character of its owner."

Collection: Interaction of Light

Klára Valušková

From Klára Valušková collection - glass broche

"This collection of jewelry and objects captures the atmosphere of its surroundings and responds to changes in lighting. It transmits images from the surrounding environment, which shift on the wearer with movement and varied lighting. In this way, the jewelry and small objects take on a unique appearance in each setting; the transmitted light image changes, fades, and reappears. The resulting objects serve as tools for viewing, sparking curiosity in the observer or wearer and offering a new perspective on the world around them.

Medium: jewelry / objects – stainless steel, acrylic lenses, porcelain, glass

Dimensions: from 60mm to 160mm"
