AFAD Architecture student attended the Climate Academy
Ján Cholvadt, a student of architecture at the AFAD, had the opportunity to participate in the 4th year of the Climate Academy, which was held in Bratislava on September 9-13, 2024 under the auspices of President Zuzana Čaputová.
"The aim of this event was to support and develop the intellect of young people with an interest in climate and environmental topics. During the academy, we had the opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge from experts from both the public and private sectors. The program included lectures, excursions, workshops and networking activities, which allowed us not only to gain new information, but also to meet other young people with a similar interest in climate protection. I believe that I will be able to use the experience and knowledge gained during this academy in my further studies and career, and thus contribute to development in this field." (Ján Cholvadt)

During five days, 25 students from various fields devoted themselves to education in the field of climate protection. Among the participants were lawyers, architects, environmentalists, financiers, managers and diplomats, which shows that the climate crisis requires a professional approach from a wide range of fields. During the week, the participants addressed topics related to the climate crisis and looked for solutions on how to deal with it effectively in their professional and personal lives. The space for discussing important issues of climate protection was an ideal place for the exchange of experiences and ideas between participants from different fields.
The students also met the participants of previous years at the gala dinner in Bratislava's Spot. The 4th year has already added a hundred graduates who are determined to share the knowledge they have acquired with their surroundings and work on solutions to the climate crisis. Mrs. President Zuzana Čaputová ceremonially opened the 4th year of the Climate Academy together with diplomat Metod Špaček. In her speech, the President emphasized that the climate crisis is a challenge that requires the widest possible involvement of society:
"The climate crisis is a common challenge, it requires the widest possible involvement. And the young generation has a special place in that." (from the press release of the Law Institute:https://pravnyinstitut.sk/november-89-spomienky-a-hodnody-ktore-stale-rezonuju-2/)
