Medium_35: Sylvia Jokelová
In 2026 Medium Gallery celebrates its 35th anniversary as a part of Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava! On this occasion we have prepared in the premises of the former artshop by the entrance to the gallery a new project called Medium_35. Medium_35 introduces throughout 2026 self-curated selection from libraries of twelve personalities of the AFAD who have a special relationship with the gallery and according to criteria they will choose on their own.

Sylvia Jokelová is a product designer and head of the Experimental Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU). The selection from her library focuses not only on titles in her areas of interest, such as design and physics, but also on perspectives that shape her worldview, such as feminism and posthumanism. In the past, she ran the first design shop in the space of the former artshop together with Ľubica Hustá and Viera Kleinová. We are all the more delighted by her selection and her other connections to the gallery, which you’ll learn about.
