Counseling for AFAD students regarding topic Institutional operation, art market and pricing - this Thursday and on

Through the Support and Counseling Center for VŠVU students in Bratislava, we have the opportunity to provide free counseling for VŠVU students, the content of which relates to various aspects of the application of an artist, designer, utility artist in professional and commercial practice. Keep track of your school email addresses.

In the world of art, the evaluation and pricing of one's work is a hot topic that is not usually taught in schools, it does not have clearly defined conditions, so most people approach it in their own way. Some use formulas, others are inspired by the sold works of other authors, the rest follow the instructions of institutions and galleries.

However, how does pricing actually work in the field of (Slovak) visual arts? Is there one correct and magical formula that can be applied to all works of art? The VŠVU Support and Counseling Center has prepared a counseling cycle for our students in the field of visual arts, which will look at this issue from several angles. Experts from various backgrounds, such as an auction company, a private gallery, an investment consultancy and a regional gallery, will come to talk about their experiences with the evaluation of works, but also with the art market and institutional operations. The cycle will be closed by a visual artist with experience with a private gallery, exhibitions, but also with grants and independent work.
