About the exhibition

Gabriela Smetanová’s exhibition 0g grew out of her residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, supported by the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU) and the Slovak Institute in Paris.

“0g, the absence of pressure and tension, a permanent free fall without obstacles, a lighter existence around us. 1g, movement on the ground, living, working, recreation with obstacles, a restrained fall and compression. Parceling and fencing off the earth while we are drawn to it. Straight ahead, in a straight line, in the direction of interest, in a circle—higher and lower, as far as possible; the limits are fluid.”

Gabriela Smetanová works as an architect at Plural studio. She is one of the editors-in-chief of MAG D A mag and technical editor of the academic journal Architektúra & urbanizmus. In 2026, she defended her dissertation at the Department of Architecture of the Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences under the supervision of Henrieta Moravčíková. Her research focused on the VAL group in 20th-century architecture.
