Annotation
The exhibition "(Silent) Layers of Paths" continues the artistic collaboration between painter Žofia Dubová and jewelry artist Kristýna Španihelová, which grows from their shared journeys – across Madeira and now Patagonia. These travels through landscapes are not merely physical movements in space, but become meditations on time, layers of memory, and silence – the kind that can only be heard in nature’s solitude. Both artists explore the visual and tactile traces that the landscape leaves on the body and soul – in colors, textures, and fragments.
In their new works, they bring forward themes of distance, solitude, and impermanence – captured in paintings and jewelry that serve not only as records of outer horizons but also inner ones. Fragments from their joint exhibition Ilha are here juxtaposed with new experiences of the journey beneath glaciers and the skies of the southern hemisphere. The exhibition creates a multilayered dialogue between painting and jewelry, between body and landscape, between silence and the path that never ends.
