Annotation

Women on the Run is a collective exhibition of twenty-four women artists who work with textile as a medium carrying personal experience, memory and relationships. The exhibition reflects on how an artwork comes into being in the midst of everyday life, in the life of a woman who, alongside her artistic practice, takes on many other roles: mother, partner, educator, daughter or caregiver. In their works, textile becomes more than a material. It is a medium that preserves time, carries meaning and transforms personal experience into a visual language. At the same time, the exhibition opens up the question of what textile can convey and how it shapes our thinking about art, everyday life and human experience.
The exhibition does not seek to create a single image of women’s experience. It presents twenty-four individual voices that complement one another, sometimes contradict one another, and at other times quietly meet in shared themes. What emerges is a polyphony of different life experiences, generational perspectives and artistic approaches. The common denominator is not a unified style or technique, but the ability of textile to convey personal experience and transform it into a universal statement.
